As we’re about to book our next weekend getaway to Paris, we’re already thinking in the back of our minds about finding the best photo spots to make that Instagram feed look on point. Well, at least I do – a little sad, but true. Luckily in Paris, a city where everytime you turn a corner, you’ll always see a hidden gem to document on the Gram. Whether it’s in winter, autumn, summer or spring in Paris, the lighting always seems to act like the perfect cinematic filter for every photo. The 18th-century Haussmanian buildings, the vintage-looking carousels and the cutest cafés are commonplace – so you’ll never miss a photo opportunity. And if you don’t know where to start, here are the 12 most instagrammable places in Paris.
This classic public square with a statue of Napoleon in the centre is the most iconic spot for fashion bloggers who come and flash their outfits. Surrounded by a range of jewlery stores which circle the plaza, there’s always space to strut down in your outfit so there won’t be any excuse to do a catwalk.
Sacré Coeur – Montmartre
Located at the top of Montmartre, you’ll see the most beautiful view of Paris, not only a perfect Instagram moment but also a potential picnic area with some buddies. You can always explore the back of Sacré Coeur, which I did and watch the sunset from there on the top of the stairs. There’s even a merry-go-round at the bottom – but be weary of couples PDA-ing and the flock of tourists that may block a potentially great photo.
Shakespeare and Company
This café and book shop is every bookworm’s dream. If you want to escape all the French bookshops, you’ll find exactly what you need in this utopian maze of stacked books. And before you know it, you’ll get to discuss Othello, snap a few gorgeous photos – killing two birds with one stone.
As much is it’s gorgeous on the outside as it is on the inside, the Louvre is un unmissable attraction whenever you come to Paris. It always reminds of the Da Vinci Code when Tom Hanks has a mindblowing moment at the end and where he finds the answer to the mystery. Its mysterious aura is definitely captured in photos – and the famous pyramidal structure provides a great contrast between the past and present. Perfect for that Instagram aesthetic.
La Maison Rose
High atop of Montemartre on Rue de l’Abreuvoir is the cutest little café with painted green shutters. And there’s a love story behind how this house was built, which featured the story of a woman and a painter who painted this house pink for her. How sweet!
This is probably the most iconic dessert spot in Paris. And what is a trip to Paris without macaroons? Ladurée is undoubtedly the best chain store for it, and its rainbow colours is every girl’s Instagram dream.
The Eiffel Tower
Of course, this list could not be complete without the Eiffel Tower. You know that you won’t leave Paris until you get a photo with this beauty in it. The Trocadéro métro is the best place to get off from, so you can get a full view.
Jardin des Tuileries
Make sure you have enough storage in your Iphone because you’ll be blowing up your phone with photos of this magnificent garden. In the summer, you’ll see the children’s fair with vintage cotton candy stands, the famous big wheel, rides and carousels – it will take you back to the 1900s. It is definitely one of the most famous parks in the world.
As an old railway station housing trains in and out of Paris, it is now a museum that holds one the largest collections of Impressionist art. It’s famous for its gigantic clock at the top of the museum, which is obviously perfect for a silhouette photo.
Arc de Triomphe
One of the other landmarks of the list, this famous arch is also a must whenever you’re in Paris – and it has an incredible view of the city if you climb to the top.
This gorgeous bridge on the Seine river probably outshines the rest of the bridges in the world and with its gold statues on top and the Eiffel Tower in the background, you’ll never suffer from a shortage of Instagram photos.
Good luck and happy Instagramming!
